 “Unlocking Academic Writing”

As the desire to study in English becomes more and more widespread, the demand for Academic English courses is also on the increase. However, the difficulties faced by students preparing for academic study can often hinder their success. This presentation will look at the differences between academic and non-academic writing in English. The difficulties of academic writing will be examined and ideas will be presented to demonstrate how teachers can help students to become competent writers. Examples will be taken from the new Cambridge Academic English series Unlock.
